Habit 1: Be Proactive
Summery
Being Proactive means doing things before they are due/happen. This means taking initiative in situations, using positive/confident language, and breaking negative cycles. All of these are things that can help you stay proactive in college.
Take Initiative
Proactive people take initiative in things that need to get done. These people know what needs to get done and gets its done. For a student this means that they get something done for a class once they get it and they also get it done before it is due.
This also means that they "carry their own weather", which means they don't let other people change there attitude. When you let people decide how you feel, you are no longer living your life. You are letting someone else decide how you feel. You have to be able to have your own feelings or attitude no matter what other people say.
Use Proactive Language

When you go through life using words like "try" and "may" then you will get nowhere. Use words like "will" or "can", words like that can boast your confidence and you are more likely to get it done. It also means that is gives you hope for what is to come.
Break Negative Cycles
Whether we know it or not we can develop negative habits. In most cases, we know they are bad but don't know how to break it. On the other hand when we are asked about any good habits it takes us a minute. In order to break a negative habit/cycle you have to be proactive in changing it. Start small with something that is negative in your life, then do something that is major.
For example something small maybe that you need to drink water and something large is that you are always late for class. For water, have a bigger water bottle and limit the amount of juice, milk, and or soda you put into your body. For the late to class, have alarms set and be smarter with your time management.
Being Proactive in a College Students' Success
As simple as it sounds, Being Proactive for a college student can help them a lot. When a college student is proactive it means that they can stay on top of there classes, in which bring better grades. This also means that their confidence of is up and they believe that they can do it.
